A mind is a terrible thing. Studies, facts don’t lie. Massaged facts DO LIE.

Studies have shown… Polls show that most people… A new study has shown…

In the 1950’s doctor’s in the media stated, ‘studies show breathing improved when Menthol was added to cigarettes,’ very loose quote.

Phillip Morris sponsored the studies, it would seem, for the public good.

When an article starts out with, ‘a new study, just out shows,’ I tune out. I have checked numerous studies, some government sponsored, as well, and see who is paying for it, and the views of the authors. Follow the money, follow the AGENDA.

The Right is easily as guilty as the Left in messaging information put out as authoritative.

It is work, to follow the trails that lead to how studies are produced.

That’s why many of us just open up and down it goes.

Most of us, thankfully, have healthy skepticism about studies, our cynicism, and looking for the hook, is imbedded in our thought processes.

So… when we hear something that doesn’t match our experience, we question it.

We hear that more guns means more injuries from fire arms. True. We also believe that the biggest fear of a criminal is a potential victim with a gun. True, studies have shown, get it?

So we decide is the risk of managing a lethal weapon is worth not being a victim?

Some say, no, I’m not prepared to use lethal force to defend myself. Cool, most of us say, not going to be a victim, if a gun is part of my protection plan, then so be it.

Media is driving the debate, with the intent to continue to build a gun stigma.

Who’s behind Bernie, the Clintons, media directors for CNN?

Follow the money.

So we end up making a decision for ourselves, that involves experience, beliefs and outcomes.

Opinion Formulators pump out the news. Pre-digested and vetted for us, because we can't decide for ourselves. Trying to look behind the news, behind the smoke and mirrors. Not only can we decide for ourselves, the extremists, Left and Right, are afraid we might.
