The concept of a ‘red flag” law’ — which permits the confiscation of lawfully owned weapons from a person because of what the person might do — violates both the presumption of innocence and the due process requirement of proof of criminal behavior before liberty can be infringed.

If past crimes have been committed, a review of a person’s gun ownership is warranted. No one reads minds, and you and I are trying to work this out.

If you have issues of violence, on record, gun ownership should be reviewed.

If you MIGHT be a bad guy, SOME day, sorry, the rule can’t apply.

Background checks, and training in the use of guns, are stand out areas of agreement, between the factions in the gun debate. Don’t let shooting humans with toy guns be part of play in your home.

If someone SAYS they will harm with a gun, and more than one person can confirm this, along with other information, there may need to be a review of this person’s past.

If you say, in writing, that you will harm with a gun, it should be noted, by authorities.

If you are violent, no gun, no access to guns.

On your person or lock them up. My personal preference is a locked metal safe, in a locked room with a sturdy solid wood door.

Double locked.

No one doubts that each concession will be met by even more demands for restrictions on guns.

If you use certain medicines, to manage mental health, review of gun ownership is warranted.

None of these listed are ,woulda, coulda, shoulda, but based on actual verifiable FACTS, related to gun ownership.

Opinion Formulators pump out the news. Pre-digested and vetted for us, because we can't decide for ourselves. Trying to look behind the news, behind the smoke and mirrors. Not only can we decide for ourselves, the extremists, Left and Right, are afraid we might.
